Bordewijk Prize, and the AKO Literature PrizeYour novel War and Turpentine was nominated for the Man Booker International Prize In 2017, it sold 250,000 copies and was translated into thirty-four languages. The Portuguese translation was awarded the Grand Prize for Translation, and a play based on the novel was part of the Almada Theatre Festival program in the summer of 2019. The novel A Converted Heart, which received widespread critical acclaim, received the award. E. du Perron.
