Sophie Anderson cresceu em Swansea (País de Gales) e estudou na Universidade de Liverpool. Trabalhou como geóloga e professora de ciências. Com uma família oriunda de diferentes partes da Europa, a sua escrita é influenciada por diversas tradições, culturas e cenários. O seu primeiro livro foi publicado em maio de 2018 e encantou crianças em todo o mundo. A Rapariga que Falava com Ursos, também publicado pela Minotauro, foi eleito livro infantil do ano nos Book Awards.
