Slawomir Mrozek was born in 1930 in Borzecin, Poland. A renowned playwright and journalist, he became known for the sense of humor he brought to his critical writings, which allowed him to escape the relentless communist censorship. He died in 2013 in Nice, France, leaving behind an extensive body of work published in almost every literary genre.
