Doutorada em Didática de Línguas, pela Universidade de Aveiro, integra o CIDTFF (Centro de Investigação em Didática e Tecnologia na Formação de Formadores), desta mesma Universidade. De entre os seus interesses científicos destacam-se a comunicação eletrónica e o seu uso no ensino/aprendizagem de línguas, a interação plurilingue e intercultural, a intercompreensão em Línguas Românicas e a Didática das Línguas de Herança. Participou em diversos projetos de investigação nacionais e internacionais nas áreas anteriormente inventariadas e desempenha, atualmente, funções de coordenadora do Ensino Português na Alemanha.
