Shere Hite (Saint Joseph, November 2, 1942 – London, September 9, 2020) graduated in History from Columbia University in 1971. A writer, novelist, sexologist, feminist, historian, and essayist, her work became internationally known for its focus on the study of sexuality, more specifically female sexuality. The importance of her work in broadening the debate on feminism and on women's health and well-being is now undeniable.
