Estadista e pensador chinês, também conhecido como o Senhor de Shang, nasceu em uma data desconhecida e morreu em 338 AC. Destaca-se como um dos mais altos representantes da escola legista (ou legalista) e foi ministro do estado de Qin e principal promotor das reformas que levaram à configuração de um estado centralista e autoritário, e à fundação do futuro Império Chinês.
