Sérgio Palma Brito

Sérgio Palma Brito nasce em Aljustrel em 1944. Em 1961, adere ao Partido Comunista e é caloiro do IST. Eleito dirigente associativo na AEIST, é expulso do IST em 1964 e denunciado à PIDE. Incorporado na 1.ª Companhia Disciplinar em 1965, deserta e exila-se na Bélgica. Aí estuda e faz carreira a que renuncia para voltar a Portugal (1977). É gestor de empresas de turismo até ser Diretor Geral da Confederação de Turismo. Entre outros, é autor de Notas Sobre a Evolução do Viajar e Formação do Turismo, Território e Turismo no Algarve, Direção Geral do Turismo – Contributos para a sua história e Albufeira – Formação e futuro do turismo (a publicar em 2020).
É Comendador da Ordem do Mérito Agrícola, Comercial e Industrial (Classe de Mérito Comercial) e Medalha de Mérito Turístico (Grau Prata).
