Sérgio Barreira

É licenciado em Química e em Engenharia Química pela Universidade do Porto, tendo-se distinguido como o melhor aluno em ambos os cursos. Durante o doutoramento trabalhou na Universidade do Porto, Universidade do Wisconsin (EUA) e Universidade de Valência (Espanha) e contribuiu para o desenvolvimento da atual geração de biossensores utilizados em biologia molecular, os microarrays de ADN e proteínas.
É autor de vários artigos científicos e já foi galardoado com vários prémios académicos.
É atualmente Professor Auxiliar na Faculdade de Ciências da Saúde da Universidade Fernando Pessoa e investiga nanossistemas para utilizar na libertação controlada de fármacos.
