Serafim Correia Pinto Guimarães é Professor Emérito da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto. Autor de inúmeros trabalhos científicos publicados em revistas internacionais e ensaios sobre ciência, arte e cultura. Autor do livro Castelo de Santa Maria da Feira. Editor do livro Terapêutica Medicamentosa e suas Bases Farmacológicas (6 edições). Prémios científicos: Pfizer (1967/2.º., 1973/2.º e 1992/1.º), UCB (1996/1.º).
