É natural de Leiria, licenciou-se em Antropologia na Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa (FSCH – UNL) em 2000. Realizou Mestrado em História Social Contemporânea no ISCTE – IUL (2004) e na mesma universidade concluiu o Doutoramento em Antropologia (2013).
É docente, desde 2006, na Escola Superior de Educação e Ciências Sociais do Instituto Politécnico de Leiria (ESECS-IPL). Integra a Comissão Cientifico-Pedagógica do Mestrado Intervenção para um Envelhecimento Ativo, do IPL e, também, a Comissão Cientifica do Programa IPL 60+.
É investigadora no CIID - Centro de Investigação Identidade(s) e Diversidade(s), núcleo de Leiria do CESNOVA.
