Salim Barakat

Salim Barakat é um escritor curdo-sírio que é considerado um dos poetas e romancistas mais inovadores da língua árabe. Foi criado em Qamishli, no norte da Síria, e passou a maior parte de sua juventude lá. Depois de viver em Beirute e Chipre, mudou-se para a Suécia em 1999, onde ainda reside. Um escritor prolífico, Barakat publicou dezenas de romances e coleções de poesia, e distingue-se de seus contemporâneos pelo uso inovador de estilo e tema na sua escrita.
