Ruy Cinatti
Ruy Cinatti was born in London on March 8, 1915. As a child, he moved to Lisbon and graduated in Agronomy. He worked as a meteorologist, secretary to the Governor of Timor, head of agronomic services in the same territory, and researcher for the Overseas Research Board. He received his doctorate in Social Anthropology and Ethnography from the University of Oxford in 1961.
He co-founded, in 1940, of The Poetry Notebooks, and in 1942 from the magazine AdventureHe received several awards for his poetic work, including the National Poetry Prize in 1968. He died in Lisbon on October 12, 1986.
