Ruth Hogan
Ruth Hogan was born in Bedford, United Kingdom, in the house where her parents still live. As a child, she was a compulsive reader. Her favorite readings ranged from The Chronicles of Narnia to cereal boxes and tombstones. She studied English and Drama at Goldsmiths College, after which she got a "suitable" job. Some time later, she worked in a government service, but suffered a car accident that prevented her from working full-time. This led her to start writing. In 2012 she was diagnosed with cancer. Throughout the period in which she underwent chemotherapy, Ruth decided to take advantage of the sleepless night hours to write, resulting in the beautiful novel The Keeper of Lost Objects, whose translation rights have been sold to about 20 languages. The author lives in a chaotic Victorian house with the dogs she rescued and her patient husband.
