Rute Pinheiro Coelho, advogada, licenciou-se em Direito na Faculdade de Lisboa. Apesar da advocacia a autora sempre se dedicou à escrita. Publicou os seus primeiros artigos no suplemento semanal do Diário de Notícias, DNJovem, e ganhou alguns prémios literários juvenis. O tema da Maçonaria foi algo que desde cedo a cativou e ao qual tem vindo a dedicar muita atenção, não só pelo simbolismo latente, mas pela sua influência nos partidos e na vida política. O Inimigo Invisível foi o seu primeiro romance.
