Rui Paes Mendes
Rui Paes Mendes is a researcher at the Centre for Studies in Geography and Spatial Planning/FLUP (CEGOT), where his preferred research areas are the study of African cities, especially those in Portuguese-speaking Africa, and he has published several articles on the subject. He holds a degree in International Relations and a bachelor's degree in Geography. He holds a PhD in Human Geography from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto (FLUP), with a thesis entitled "The Colonial City and the Structuring of the Territory in Mozambique - The urban evolution of Lourenço Marques/Maputo, Beira, Nampula and Porto Amélia/Pemba".
