Rudolph E. Tanzi é Professor de Neurologia da Faculdade de Medicina de Harvard, Diretor da Unidade de Investigação de Genética e Envelhecimento do Hospital Geral de Massachusetts, e coautor de Decoding Darkness: The Search for the Genetic Causes of Alzheimer’s Disease.
Dirige igualmente o Projeto Genoma de Alzheimer. O Dr. Tanzi tem vindo a investigar a base molecular e genética da doença neurológica desde 1980, e ao longo das últimas décadas tem colaborado em muitos estudos, identificando os genes de outras doenças, incluindo os que contribuem para a esclerose lateral amiotrófica (ELA) e o autismo.
