Román Gubern

Román Gubern, nascido em Barcelona, em 1934, foi investigador no Massachusetts Institute of Technology (Pasadena), diretor do Instituto Cervantes em Roma e presidente da Asociación Española de Historiadores del Cine. Atualmente é catedrático de Comunicação Audiovisual na Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona, membro da New York Academy of Sciences, da American Association for the Advancement of Science e da comissão de honra da International Association for Visual Semiotics.
Tem cerca de quarenta livros publicados, de que se destacam Historia del cine (1969), El lenguaje de los cómics (1972), Mensajes icónicos en la cultura de masas (1974), Viaje de ida (1997), O Eros Electrónico (2000, publicado em Portugal em 2001) e Patologías de la imagen (2004).
