Licenciado em Administração e Gestão de Empresas pela UCP (Lisboa, 1984), iniciou a sua atividade docente no ano letivo 1985/86, na Escola Secundária de Emídio Navarro (Viseu). Em 1989 ingressou na Escola Superior de Tecnologia e Gestão do Instituto Politécnico de Viseu (ESTGV) onde é Professor Adjunto. Sempre lecionou Cálculo Financeiro (Matemática Financeira), quer no ensino secundário, quer no ensino superior, não apenas na instituição a que pertence, mas também noutras, a título de Professor Convidado, em cursos de licenciatura e pós-graduação. Atualmente exerce o cargo de Pró-Presidente para a Modernização Educativa do Politécnico de Viseu. É membro da Ordem dos Economistas e da Ordem dos Contabilistas Certificados.
