Roger Lee de Jesus é doutorado em História pela Universidade de Coimbra. É investigador do Centro de História da Sociedade e da Cultura (UC) e do CHAM – Centro de Humanidades (FCSH-NOVA/UAç). Tem desenvolvido investigação sobre a construção do império português na Ásia (século XVI). Tem publicado diversos artigos na área e coeditou as obras Finanças, economia e instituições no Portugal Moderno (séculos XVI-XVIII) (Imprensa da Universidade de Coimbra, 2019) e The First World Empire. Portugal, War and Military Revolution (Routledge, 2021).
