Rocío Martínez (Madrid, Espanha, 1966) é licenciada em Belas-Artes pela Academia de San Fernando de Madrid, na especialidade de gravura. Desde 1990 que se dedica profissionalmente à ilustração de livros infantis e juvenis. Pertence à Associação de Amigos do Livro Infantil e Juvenil. Recebeu várias distinções, como o Prémio Nacional pelo Livro Melhor Editado com Tan Tan Mamut. Foi também selecionada para a Bienal de Ilustração de Bratislava em 1996 e para a Feira do Livro Infantil de Bolonha em 1997. Em 1999 obteve um accessit do Prémio Lazarillo.
