Robert Menasse
Robert Menasse was born in 1954 in Vienna, where he lives. He studied German language and literature, philosophy, and political science in Vienna, Salzburg, and Messina, and is one of the most important and well-known writers in contemporary Austrian literature. With more than a dozen published books, including essays, novels, and short stories, his work has been translated into more than 25 languages. The CapitalHis great European novel, , won the 2007 German Book Prize and was enthusiastically applauded by critics and readers alike.
