Richard Demarcy

Richard Demarcy (1942–2018) foi fundador, com Teresa Mota, do Naïf Théâtre, em 1972, e diretor do Théâtre de la Commune d’Aubervilliers. Importante dramaturgo e encenador francês, manteve uma estreita ligação ao Portugal revolucionário, em particular através da proximidade aos coletivos A Comuna e CENDREV.

Sociólogo de formação, é autor de um livro fundamental para a formação de atores e para a análise de espetáculos, Éléments d’une sociologie du spectacle (1973). Na sua vasta bibliografia teatral, juntou às suas encenações elementos políticos e narrativos, revisitando autores como Shakespeare, Lewis Carroll ou Fernando Pessoa (A Mensagem), ou assinando parábolas sociais como L'Étranger dans la maison (1982) e Ubu déchaîné ou les nouvelles aventures du Père et de la Mère Ubu (1998).
