Nasceu a 13 de Março de 1953, no Canadá. É doutorado em Bioquímica e regente da cadeira de Prevenção e Tratamento do Cancro na Universidade do Quebeque, em Montreal. Além de lecionar Cirurgia, Neurocirurgia, Fisiologia e Bioquímica noutras universidades, é, a nível mundial, um dos mais importantes nomes da investigação sobre prevenção e tratamento do cancro. É autor de mais de 250 publicações em revistas médicas e de vários livros, traduzidos em 37 países, entre os quais se destaca o aclamado Alimentos contra o Cancro (Guerra e Paz, 2006).
