Licenciado em Filosofia pela Universidade de Oviedo, Ricardo Menéndez Salmón (Gijón, 1971) era já autor de uma obra diversificada quando, em 2007, com a publicação de A Ofensa, se transformou numa das referências da nova literatura espanhola.
Derrocada veio a lume em 2008, seguindo-se-lhe, em 2009, O Revisor.
Estes três romances, conhecidos como Trilogia do Mal, integram o catálogo da Porto Editora.
