O cabalista Rav P. S. Berg nasceu em Williamsburg, Nova Iorque, no seio de uma família com uma grande tradição rabínica. Depois de estudar em Beit Midrash Gavoa, em Lakewood, Nova Jérsia, Rav Berg foi ordenado rabino no conhecido seminário Torá VaDaat, em Williamsburg. Durante os seus anos de residência em Israel, Rav Berg teve o privilégio de estudar com Rav Yehudá Brandwein, um dos maiores cabalistas do século XX. Entre os muitos livros de Rav Berg, contam-se Immortality, The Wheels of the Soul, Miracles, Mysteries and Prayer, Taming Chaos, e The Essential Zohar. Juntamente com Karen, sua esposa, Rav Berg dirige o Centro de Cabala, a organização mais importante dedicada ao ensino da Cabala, com mais de 50 sedes em todo o mundo.
