She is 11 years old and attends the 6th grade of Basic Education 2/3 at the Frei João School in Vila do Conde, where she is an honorary student. She published her first book at the age of 8. A children's book titled: Joana's Adventures – Mischievous Dolls. Furthermore, she contributed poetry to the 5th Anthology of Contemporary Poetry – Between Sleep and Dream, published by Chiado Editora, and writes several poems daily. In her own words, she understands writing as: "Books take us to other worlds. We travel without leaving our place. While we read, it seems that the story is real and we also enter into it. I love to read. When I enter a story, I want to read forever... and the moment the book ends, the story disappears and I return to reality. Books give me inspiration to write... my imagination is full of the most beautiful stories... Books are pages of imagination!"
