Peter Phillips is a professor of Political Sociology at Sonoma State University since 1994. He was director of Censored Project, from 1996 to 2010, and president of Media Freedom FoundationFrom 2003 to 2017, his work is recognized by the various awards he has received. PEN Censorship Award 2008, Pillar Human Rights Award 2014 and Firecracker Alternative Book Award 1997 for Best Political Book. He lives in California with his wife Mary Lia.
