Peter Asmussen

Peter Asmussen nasceu em 1957, na Dinamarca.
A sua obra abrange vários domínios – teatro, ficção, cinema e libretos para ópera – e está publicada em vários países, como França, Itália e Inglaterra.
Recebeu em 2000 o prestigiado Prémio Kjeld Abell Peter, um galardão dinamarquês atribuído a personalidades que se destacam no teatro ou no cinema.
Como argumentista de cinema, Asmussen alcançou reconhecimento internacional pela sua colaboração com Lars Von Trier no filme Breaking the Waves.
Além de A Praia, contam-se, entre as suas peças de teatro, Sangue Jovem, Quarto com Sol, Queimados pelo Gelo e Crime.
Peter Asmussen morreu em 2016.
