Penelope Fitzgerald
Penelope Fitzgerald is one of the most notable voices in British fiction. She worked on BBC During the war, she was the editor of a literary journal, managed a bookstore, and taught at several schools. She is the author of nine novels, three of which – The Bookstore, The Beginning of Spring and The Gate of Angels – were in shortlist for the Booker Prize, winning the award in 1979 with Offshore.
