Professor Catedrático no Departamento de Engenharia Eletromecânica, desde 2004. Foi Diretor de curso das licenciaturas em Engenharia Mecânica e Engenharia Eletromecânica e é atualmente membro do Conselho Geral da UBI. Formação básica em Física Teórica (Universidade de Montpellier, França) e em Engenharia Mecânica no ramo de Termodinâmica Aplicada (IST, Lisboa). Formação avançada em Fenómenos de Transporte e Energia (Mestrado, IST), e em Dinâmica dos Fluidos Computacional (PhD, Imperial College, Londres).
