Paulo Granjo
Paulo Granjo is an anthropologist and researcher at the Institute of Social Sciences of the University of Lisbon. Portuguese and a citizen of the world, he has maintained a deep and empathetic relationship with Mozambique since 1999, based on university teaching and research on topics such as industrial danger, lobolo (bride price), divination and healing, witchcraft, the social reintegration of civil war veterans, the violent protests of 2008 and 2010, lynchings, discrimination against albinos and twins, mental health practices, and extractive industries. He has published several books and scientific articles on these subjects. He is an honorary member of the Association of Traditional Doctors of Mozambique and was awarded the Sedas Nunes Prize (2007) for his book... "We're Working on a Powder Keg": Men and danger at the Sines refinery.This book, intimate and in literary style, is the result of a significant experience in his professional life and his emotional connection to the country and its inhabitants.
