Pauline Holdstock

Pauline Holdstock, natural de Inglaterra, foi para o Canadá em 1974, onde actualmente reside, em Vancouver Island. Mãe de quatro filhos, a escritora confessa: "Escrevo Para Descobrir o que posso saber". Escreve romance, ensaio, contos e critica literária. A sua obra foi já galardoada com vários prémios, contando-se entre as seis finalistas nomedasa para o Giller Prize 2004. Ganhou o Prairie Fire Personal Journalism Prize 2000, o Books in Canada First Nobel Award 1988, o Federation of B.C. Writers Prize for Fiction e, em 2005, com a presente obra, foi a vencedora do Ethel Wilson Fiction Prize.
