Paule Constant

Paule Constant is one of the leading names in modern French fiction. A Doctor of Letters (specializing in 18th-century French Literature), novelist, university professor, essayist, and literary critic, she is the author of several novels, among which the following deserve mention. Private Property (1981), White Spirit, Grand Prix du Roman of the French Academy (1990), The Governor's Daughter (recently published in Portugal by Casa das Letras) and Confidentiality for Confidentiality, awarded the prestigious Goncourt Prize (1998). He currently lives in Aix-en-Provence.
