Paula Oliveira e Silva, Professora Auxiliar no Departamento de Filosofia da Universidade do Porto. As suas áreas de investigação e docência são a Filosofia Medieval e a Ontologia, tendo publicado estudos sobre as Disputações Metafísicas de Francisco Suárez e sobre o seu tratado De fine ultimo hominis. É investigadora no Instituto de Filosofia da Universidade do Porto. Nesta unidade de investigação dirigiu o projeto "Animal Rationale Mortale. A relação corpo-alma e as paixões da almanos Comentários ao De anima de Aristóteles das Universidades portuguesas do séc. XVI", no âmbito do qual se preparou para a publicação de A Ciência Metafísica.
