Paul McKenna dedicou-se ao estudo do sucesso, aprendeu técnicas de Programação Neurolinguística, formou-se em Hipnose Clínica, tirou um doutoramento em Filosofia. Munido dos seus novos conhecimentos, começou a pô-los em prática com resultados espantosos. Em 1993 estreou-se na televisão, com The Hypnotic World of Paul McKenna. O sucesso foi imediato, até que em Janeiro de 2008 Paul tornou-se na mais bem paga estrela televisiva do Reino Unido, ao assinar um contrato milionário com o Discovery Channel. Hoje é o autor britânico de não-ficção mais vendido em todo mundo, e divide o seu tempo entre a televisão, os seminários e a escrita de best-sellers.
