Patricia MacDonald nasceu em 1949. Os seus thrillers negros e envolventes cativaram o público nos Estados Unidos e em França, onde atingiu o top de vendas. Desde a publicação do seu primeiro livro, em 1981, Patricia MacDonald já publicou mais de uma dezena de obras, incluindo Imperdoável, nomeado para o Edgar Award, já publicado pela 11x17. A autora vive em Nova Jérsia com o marido e a filha.
