Paolo Giordano (Turim, 1982) é dos mais importantes escritores italianos da atualidade. Licenciou-se em Física na Universidade de Turim, onde ganhou uma bolsa de doutoramento em Física de Partículas, e é o autor dos romances A Solidão dos Números Primos (2008, Prémio Strega e Prémio Campiello Opera Prima), O Corpo Humano (2012), Negro e Prata (2014) e Devorar o Céu (2018). Publicou ainda o ensaio Frente ao Contágio (2020) e Le cose che non voglio dimenticare (2021). Escreveu para teatro e para cinema, e é um colaborador regular no jornal Corriere della Sera.
Tasmânia, o seu mais recente romance, foi considerado o melhor livro de 2022 em Itália.
