Paloma Diaz-Mas
Paloma Díaz-Mas was born in Madrid in 1954. A professor and researcher at the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), she taught literature for 18 years at the University of the Basque Country. She is the author of several essays on oral literature and ballads, as well as medieval Spanish literature and Sephardic culture.
At just 19 years old, he published his first book, a collection of micro-stories (Illustrious Unknowns, electronic edition), which were followed by the novels The Rape of the Holy Grail (finalist for the First Herralde Novel Prize 1983) The Dream of Venice (Herralde Novel Award 1992) and The fertile land (Euskadi Prize 2000 and Critics' Prize finalist); the book of short stories Our millennium (1987), and autobiographical accounts Una ciudad llamada Eugenio (1992) and Like a closed book (2005). Participated in two anthologies of short stories: Mothers and daughters (2002) and Stories from friends (2009).
