Professor Auxiliar no Departamento de Engenharia Mecânica da Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto, desde 1983. Lecionou todas as unidades curriculares da área de fluidos e calor do curso atualmente denominado Mestrado Integrado em Engenharia Mecânica, e também outras disciplinas nos cursos de Mestrado Integrado em Engenharia e Gestão Industrial, Mestrado Integrado em Energia e Ambiente e Mestrado Integrado em Engenharia Química. É Investigador no Centro de Investigação em Energias Renováveis.
