Maria Odete da Costa Semedo é uma escritora da Guiné- Bissau. Licenciada em Línguas e Literaturas Modernas pela Faculdade de Ciências Sociais e Humanas da Universidade Nova de Lisboa, foi presidente da Comissão Nacional para a UNESCO-Bissau. Fundadora da Revista de Letras, Artes e Cultura Tcholona, publicou um livro de poemas "Entre o Ser e o Amar", em Bissau (1996). É actualmente investigadora, na capital guineense, do Instituto Nacional de Estudos e Pesquisas, para as áreas de Educação e Formação.
