Nuruddin Farah

Nuruddin Farah nasceu em 1945, na Somália.
É autor de oito livros, entre os quais Sweet and Sour Milk e Close Sesame (ainda não editados em Portugal). Os seus romances estão traduzidas em mais de 12 línguas.
Depois da publicação de Sweet and Sour Milk, vencedor do Prémio da União Literária de Língua Inglesa, Farah tornou-se persona non grata no seu país de origem. No exílio, o autor deu início àquilo que se tornou no projecto literário de uma vida: "manter o meu país vivo, escrevendo sobre ele".
No verão de 1996, foi-lhe possível visitar a Somália pela primeira vez em mais de vinte anos. Segredos é o seu primeiro romance depois dessa visita.
Actualmente o autor vive em Kaduna, na Nigéria, com a mulher e os dois filhos.
