Aos 16 anos, diagnosticaram um cancro a Nuno Santos. Entre os tratamentos dolorosos, a cirurgia para remoção da anca, a colocação de uma prótese e a superação da doença. Após 4 anos, a prótese deslocou-se, voltaram os internamentos, mais intervenções cirúrgicas e uma perna sem mobilidade. Após muita ponderação, decidiu amputar a perna. Hoje vive sem dores e sem limitações. Iniciou o curso de representação, treina diariamente e tem um canal de YouTube. Afirma que já viveu mais nos últimos meses do que nos últimos dez anos.
