Nuno Poiares

Nuno Poiares was born in 1975 in Peso da Régua. He graduated from the Military College with a Bachelor's degree in Law and Police Sciences, and a Master's degree in Sociology. He is currently a PhD candidate in Sociology at ISCTE-IUL and an Assistant at CIES-IUL. He is an officer in the PSP (Public Security Police), where he joined in 1994. He is an Assistant at the Polytechnic Institute of Beja, where he teaches Sociology of Law, and a Professor at the Higher Institute of Police Sciences and Internal Security, where he teaches Sociology of Deviance and Violence in the area of ​​specialization in Criminology and Criminal Investigation of the Master's Degree (non-integrated) in Police Sciences. He is a guest researcher at the UBINET Laboratory | Information Security and Cybercrime, where he is responsible for the module on Sociology of Crime and Cybercrime. In postgraduate training, he has supervised Master's dissertations in the area of ​​Criminology and Criminal Investigation and Police Sciences.
