Nick Bradley nascido na Alemanha, em 1982, cresceu em Bath, Inglaterra. Depois de tirar o mestrado em Literatura Inglesa, foi viver para o Japão, de onde só regressaria bastantes anos mais tarde. Foi fotógrafo, professor de Japonês e Inglês, tradutor de videojogos, e escreveu sobre viagens. Fala fluentemente japonês e doutorou-se em Escrita Criativa e Crítica, com foco na figura do gato na cultura japonesa. Professor no programa de mestrado em Escrita Criativa na Universidade de Cambridge, Um Gato em Tóquio é o seu romance de estreia, já publicado em vários países.
