Nelson Motta tornou-se conhecido dos portugueses com Manhattan Connection, programa do canal GNT, no qual se promovem debates sobre os mais variados temas da actualidade.
Tem publicadas obras de não-ficção com grande sucesso no Brasil, como Nova York é Aqui, Confissões de Um Torcedor e Noites Tropicais.
Nelson estreou-se no romance com O Canto da Sereia, editado pela Palavra em 2005 vendendo entre nós mais de 6500 exemplares. Bandidos e Mocinhas é o seu mais recente livro.
