Nelson Araújo é diretor da licenciatura de Cinema e Audiovisual na Escola Superior Artística do Porto, local onde leciona as unidades curriculares: História do Cinema Português, História do Cinema, Expressão Audiovisual, Estética do Cinema e Metodologias da Realização. É investigador integrado no Centro de Estudos Arnaldo Araújo, integra a comissão organizadora do Encontro Internacional O Cinema e as outras Artes, tendo participado na coordenação dos 4 volumes Cinema e outras Artes - Diálogos e Inquietudes Artísticas publicados por LabCom.IFP.
