Najat El Hachmi é uma autora de língua espanhola e origem marroquina, que chegou a Espanha com oito anos. Licenciada en Filologia Árabe pela Universidade de Barcelona, o seu romance de estreia, L’últim patriarca, foi o vencedor do Premio Ramon Llull de 2007. Colabora com diversos meios de comunicação em Espanha. Este é o seu segundo romance.
