Maurice de Bévère ou Morris (Bélgica, 1923 - 2001). Começou a trabalhar aos 20 anos como colorista no CBA, um estúdio belga de desenhos animados. Cria, em 1946 uma das personagens mais conhecidas da Banda Desenhada mundial: Lucky Luke. Depois de se ter mudado para os Estados Unidos onde viveu 6 anos, Morris regressa à Europa em 1955 para trabalhar com René Goscinny que entretanto tinha conhecido. Esta colaboração manter-se-ia até 1977, o ano da morte do grande mestre da BD. A partir desta data colabora com diversos argumentistas. Em 1987, assina a série Rantanplan, que se viria a revelar outro grande sucesso.
