Com o projeto investigação que deu origem a esta obra - A Guerra na África Austral. Analise da estratégia total nacional da África do Sul -1948/1994 – Miguel Júnior obteve o Doctorate Degree em história pela University of Texas at Austin, EUA.
É mestre em História Militar pela academia Militar/Universidade dos Açores de Portugal e em história pela Califórnia Hill University. È Ph.D.
Em História pela Atlantic Internacional University be pela Paramount Califórnia University (Magna Cum Laud).
