Miguel Figueira de Faria, é professor Catedrático do Departamento de História, Artes e Humanidades da Universidade Autónoma de Lisboa (DHAH-UAL). Investigador do Instituto de História da Arte (IHA FCSH-NOVA) e do Centro de Investigação em Ciências Históricas (CICH-UAL).
Tem obras publicadas nas áreas de História da Arte e da Imagem, Urbanismo, Património, Estudos Olisiponenses, História do Livro e da Edição, História do Brasil Colonial e História Empresarial e do Empreendedorismo.
Neste último domínio, dando sequência a trabalhos de investigação iniciados no final da década de 1980, funda, no ano 2000, o Centro de Estudos de História Empresarial (CEHE), unidade orientada para a investigação aplicada, do qual é diretor. Nesta área publicou e coordenou, entre outros, os seguintes títulos: Marconi: da TSF às Comunicações Globais, Banco Comercial Português: a Primeira Década 1985-1995, Lisnave: Contributos para a História da Indústria Naval em Portugal.
